Marriage
While a wedding involves countless details and much planning, here at Holy Trinity we will help you focus on the sacramental nature of this very important milestone in your life. At such a hectic time, it takes a great deal of effort to understand the value and importance of the sacrament.
PREPARATION:
The Archdiocese requires a six month preparation period. Call the church office at 215-295-3045 to make an appointment.
Couples should make arrangements to begin marriage preparation six to twelve months before a proposed date for the wedding. Nine months to a year is preferred. This allows enough time after the formal marriage preparation for the details of the wedding.
Each couple preparing for marriage in the Catholic Church is required by the Archdiocese to attend four "Pre-Cana" classes. These sessions are conducted in various locations in the diocese to help meet the needs of each parish. You will be given a pamphlet listing the dates, times, and places of upcoming sessions. You may also call the Office for Life and Family at the Archdiocese at 215-587-5661.
Both the bride and groom must obtain a baptismal certificate from the church of their baptism. The certificate should be no more than six months old. If you were baptized here at Holy Trinity, you need not obtain a certificate.
